Value of imaging study in predicting pelvic lymph node metastases of uterine cervical cancer
PURPOSE To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in predicting pelvic lymph node (LN) metastases in patients with cervical cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS From January 2009 to March 2015, 114 patients with FIGO stage IA1-IIB uterine cervical cancer who underwent hysterectomy w...
متن کاملPrognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer
Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...
متن کاملSentinel lymph node in cervical cancer
Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women. Effective screening programs can help cancer detection in early phases and reduce death. Metastasis to lymph nodes is one of the most prognostic factors in patients who underwent surgery. Also, a positive result from pathology report alert oncologist as a cause of death. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has been widely ...
متن کاملMRI for pretreatment lymph node staging in uterine cervical cancer.
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this article is to assess the accuracy of MRI in detecting pelvic and paraaortic lymph node metastasis from uterine cervical cancer using various imaging criteria. CONCLUSION Although MRI analysis resulted in relatively low sensitivity, size and margin (spiculated or lobulated) were useful criteria for predicting lymph node metastasis from cervical cancer.
